Huurre Ibérica has recently expanded its photovoltaic panel installation at its production plant in Cassà de la Selva (Girona), reinforcing its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, one of the objectives of the comprehensive sustainability project Planet Passionate.
Thanks to this investment, the annual electricity production at its facilities has increased to 770 MWh, covering 23% of the plant’s annual consumption. The remainder of the plant’s energy also comes 100% from certified renewable sources.
To fund this photovoltaic expansion, Huurre received support from the incentives Program for self-consumption and storage with renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of renewable thermal systems, all within the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union under the Next Generation Program.
The expansion consists of 404 photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 375 Wp each (151 kWp in total), and the amount received from the Next Generation funds was €16,691.68.
